Fox wasn’t as interested in discretion as Roux was or would like him to be. For example, his eyepatch tended to draw attention and his overall appearance paired with his behavior tended to leave a lasting impression on some. On the rare occasions were secrecy was a must, he’d don a mask but never really saw the need for it given that anyone who saw him on the job didn’t live too long after. Parked across the street from the coffee shop, he remained within his own car, feet kicked up to stretch across the steering wheel and rest on the dashboard while he uses one hand to mindlessly scroll through his phone, already using it to search for a new assassination mission.
The way he saw it, this heist would be over and done with within a blink of the eye, no loose strings or anything to tie him and Roux together, much like every other job he’s taken so far. As another car drove past, Fox glanced upwards and watched until he saw the familiar locks of ruby red hair. A few moments after the woman had settled into one of the outside tables, he finally climbed out of his car and crossed the street towards the coffee shop.
“This seat taken?” Fox grinned cheekily as he approached Roux, hands tucked within the pockets of his jacket and his one eye bright with a mix of humor and anticipation. Heists were not his thing, period. Assassinations were far more straight-forward, could be easily executed from a 500-meter distance and the chances of getting caught were lowered significantly. If the money weren’t so promising, he would have dropped the offer within seconds. Right then and now, however, Fox couldn’t help the looming sense of excitement towards this fairly new territory. Not to mention, that his partner in crime was…interesting, for lack of a better word.
Fox slipped into the seat across from Roux, reclining into it with one arm positioned back on the headrest and his other drumming fingers against the table. “So, we setting up the game plan here? A little too public, don’t you think?” A quick glance at their surroundings followed the words. While the sidewalk was busy, the people passing by or seated at the other tables were far too caught up in their own business to really take notice of the one-eyed assassin or the redheaded thief. He would prefer not to take the risk of someone among the crowd not being an eavesdropper, though.
